Your wireless phone can do a lot these days. It’s a device that can take a picture of a cute girl (or guy, as the case may be), listen to the new “tunes” you just downloaded, check email, and talk to your mother all at the same time. Tasks we have learned to conquer on our way to the office. However, your current wireless phone has not improved much in the way in which you browse the web. That is until now.

Your new mobile browser has just been released in a tight little package: Opera Mini. Opera’s new mobile version has made the mobile internet cool again. If you don’t believe me take it for a spin yourself. The new browser is a Java ME application. Meaning if your phone supports Java, which most newer phones do, then you are ready to surf.

Highlighted by it’s familiar interface the Opera Mini does a great job at mimicking the feel of your pc browser. Address bar at the top, search engines in the middle, bookmarks and history at the bottom of the browser are welcoming to any user. Impressing even further the browser scales down full web pages. Decreasing page size by as much as 90%, while preserving images, and lowering the data usage. You no longer have to wait to check your online banking, track an order, or even update your MySpace page.
