According to The Wireless Report.com, Sprint Nextel will be cutting 5,000 employees in an effort to lower costs. This is a result of losing millions of customers to their competitors since their merger over a year and a half ago. This makes sense when you consider that Cingular has grown from 42 million to 58 million over the past 2 1/2 years.
